What are the children going to learn?
At Nonsuch Primary, children learn phonics throughout Early Years and Key Stage 1. It is taught daily, in short sessions so that children build up and practise the skills they need to use in reading and writing.
Practising the sounds correctly is really important! The children in Key Stage 1 take home three books per week. One book to support the phonics they are learning and is fully decodable, one book to build essential vocabulary knowledge and one book from the library.
