School Closure

Nonsuch Primary School is closed until further notice to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

School will, however, remain open to offer care for a very small number of children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are key workers critical to the COVID-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home. For queries relating to this emergency care, or to discuss care needs, contact the school office on enquiry@nonsuch.bham.sch.uk.

The government has given clear guidance on self-isolation, household isolation and social distancing. All children not being cared for in school, and their families, need to follow this guidance to stay safe and reduce the spread of the virus.

For those staying safe at home, we have set up a wide range of home learning resources for children and their families. More is added each day and will continue to be so for as long as we are closed.  The link to follow is: https://schoolwork.elevatenetworks.net/nonsuchb79/. This can be accessed on any device which connects to the internet, including mobile phones. Remember this does not need to be printed off but can be completed in the exercise books that were sent home with the children.

The children also have access to the following whilst we are closed:

  • NESSY
  • Oxford Owl
  • Timestable Rockstars
  • Numbot
  • Purple Mash

Parents can also sign up for a free month with TWINKL. Click on the following link for information: https://www.twinkl.co.uk/blog/how-to-utilise-twinkl-during-the-coronavirus-shutdown-a-guide-for-schools

If you are unable to access the resources for any reason, please email us as above and we will put something in place for your child.

For those children who rely on a free school meals, we are providing vouchers via the Birmingham and Government Scheme. Please make sure that you respond to the email sent via parentmail to access this.

I am an extremely proud of all the pupils and staff at Nonsuch Primary School. In this difficult time we have come together to ensure that everyone is prepared for what is to come. The committed and dedicated staff team are working, and will continue to work, tirelessly round the clock to do what is best for our children, families and our country. I know you will join me in thanking them for all they are doing, and will continue to do in the coming weeks and months.

We will continue to communicate by phone, parentmail and the school website. Our phone will be answered and we will do everything we are able to do to help and support you and your families. I appreciate that this can be a difficult and worrying time for children, staff and our families. If you have any further concerns or require any support, please do not hesitate to talk to call the school office on 0121 464 2064 or email us on enquiry@nonsuch.bham.sch.uk.

Thank you for your ongoing support, patience and understanding in this difficult time, please stay safe.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Roberts

Headteacher

Please note that we are now running the school on skeleton staff to help stop the spread of the virus and protect our community.

Whilst the school is closed, Mr Farrelly and his team are carrying out a deep clean.
